It sounds like your list is either open or semimoderated. If you still
have the list on hold, you have some options.

If you want to let some of the stuff through but get rid of the flames
so things can cool down a bit (maybe), you could change it to Send= Editor
with Editor= owner (or another address). Then free the list. The stuff
that's in the queue from whenever the hold went on will be sent for approval,
except your stuff which will go straight through.

Or, if you want to just flat get rid of everything in queue from when the
hold went on make it Send= owner or Send= [log in to unmask] When you free the
list everything in the queue will be rejected ("you are not allowed to post
to ...."). You however can post whatever you like.

The first should allow you to pick and choose what you let through, the
second will wipe everything. But, as far as I know, if *you* want to post
anything, even with the above, you have to free the list. Either way,
people will get "your message has been submitted..." or "you are not
allowed to post..." messages when you free the list.

You might want to go ahead and free the list, send your post and tell
people the list would be shut down for a while for tempers to cool,
then change the header to one of the above.
