I was too quick with my 'darn it'.

It doesn't matter whether I select chronological, or most recent
first.  The sort by topic selection has a number of split up entries
in the table of contents.  Some topics are listed more than once, with
some of the messages in the topic under one listing, and others in
other listings.  I can't discern anything in the posting to explay why
this should be so.

You can see what I mean by going to our archives, at the link above.

One example is the 'Boiled baby' topic  (boiled baby is a type of
dessert, BTW ;-) )
