For those who want to see the whole RFC process, and have a couple years to
wait for something to go thru it (if you're lucky), see:
http://www.rfc-editor.org/          The second link takes you to the whole
story.  It will also get you to the current queue of RFCs in process, a
list containing over fifty potential RFCs.  Also, check out RFC 2360, the
guide to standards for RFC writers (the structure is very precise).

And, as others have noted, there are all of the RFCs at a multitude of sites.
