Ralph,
I've had these at least 5 times now. The solution is to contact the
postmaster at that person's node. 3 of the 5 times the loop was because
the local mailer was looping to one or more people at their site. The
other 2 times were mystery loops but I think I tracked one of them down to
a machine at Berkeley but the postmaster denied there was a problem.
Strangely enough after I notifed the postmaster the problem stopped.
If the Listserv propogates a loop then I believe everyone on the list
will get looped not just a few isolated people. However, one of my loops
was caused by a backbone listserver elsewhere that crashed during the
night and sent several duplicates to people. The postmaster at that site
was very responsive and fixed the problem quickly.
