Good old Microsoft adds a 'hidden' part of the message called WINMAIL.DAT
that contains an RTF copy of your message so you can have BOLD and *italic*
type and colored type etc in your email (which LISTSERV couldn't care less
about).

The problem is two-fold. You need to turn off RTF for messages you send to
your LISTSERV address (this is an obscure click box buried in the Address
Book).

Second, LISTSERV was attempting to process the WINMAIL.DAT as a command
becasue it did not know where your command message ends and the remainder
(sig line, WINMAIL.DAT, etc) begins.

The easiest solution is to add 2 dash chars (--) on one line, by
themselves, in the leftmost column.

Many people begin sig lines this way (see mine below) and LISTSERV
understands this (in command messages only!) and will ignore all further
lines to end of message.
