Thanks, Michael. I thought I remembered all of the 888 subscribers :-) but
I did find a kerstein at another server. It was a general scan and I did not
find another one. The subscription shows it is a mail account and I sent a
message to check it and it has not returned. However, the bounces are not
instantaneous as the one I sent already was originally posted at 2 PM this
afternoon and had just been bounced by knology.net and received by me
shortly before I sent it to the list.

I am hoping it will bounce and that I will have found the missing link. I
will wait to write the subscriber until I know for sure. I will let you
know.

Thanks to all.

Barbara

The username shown in the error message is 'kerstein' so did you try a
'SCAN FLORIDABIRDS-L kerstein' command? Chances are this subscriber is
forwarding mail from an entirely different address to the knology.net
address.

Similarly, did you try 'SCAN FLORIDABIRDS-L earthlink' (as above) to see
if some obvious pattern pops up?

If it *is* a situation where a subscriber's forwarding to another address
then the probe methods that Pete Weiss suggested earlier may be the only
way you'll discover the culprit.

His suggestion of sending a DISTRIBUTE job would yield good (and faster)
results, too. However, as Pete's already pointed out, this would require
contacting the LISTSERV Administrator for assistance.
