You need to send your posts in HTML format. This means that you'll have to
have at least this in your list header(s):

Language=HTML

There's still no iron-clad guarantee that your subscribers will see what
you want them to see, though. Some people may strip HTML from their e-mail
before receiving it, some may have their client configured to only see the
plain-text portion, some may even be completely incapable of rendering it.

You're safest option is to not even send the pictures in the first place.
Instead, create a web page that sits on a publicly available server. Then,
send a link to this page to your subscribers in a plain-text message. You
can guarantee that everyone who receives the message will have the best
possible chance of reading it and seeing the link. Those who want to see
the graphics will click on the link.

The side benefits here are:

- less annoyance for people who really don't want to see the graphics in
the first place
- less strain on your's and your recipients' mail systems (smaller message,
no questionable content, no pesky attachments)
- you can even monitor traffic to the web page for statistics
