Aldo--
        You did not have to delete the people right away. You should
        have reminded them of the listserv protocol from Paris which
        forbids politics and propaganda on the internet, although a
        lot of people are unaware of this provision. The protocol and
        conventions are designed to help you overcome any tumult on
        your list with the least force possible. There are several
        other sections which forbid business per se and other
        undertakings which might offend participants in the internet.
        Perhaps, someone who has the document readily at hand could
        post the pertinent sections of the protocol to help listowners
        in similar situations. You were right to stop the tumult. I
        was on one list which destroyed itself in this type of
        violence and have seen others where very hostile comments were
        needlessly exchanged.
