Hi-

  My name is Josh Moore and I'm a list owner here at The University of
Alabama. The name of my list is NC(@bama.ua.edu).  -Very- often, I get
subscription requests for my list (which is closed) from another list
Nc/Sc-roots-l somewhere.  I'm not sure what server its on.  The slash
reduces the address to nc and then listserv searches until it finds my
list.

  Any suggestions on how to curb the problem?
