Along these same lines, I have been receiving error notices from
the listserv to the effect that "mail for [listname] has been received
from a user who has been served off".

I have not served this user off. The SERVE command sent to the listserv
returns a message to the effect that this user has not had his access
suspended.

What is causing this problem, and what can/should be done about it?
