NEW-LIST Option and Digests in 1.8b beta

When storing a header with the new-list option, I received the
message back that old digest was deleted (or some such).  I presume
this means we should be circumspect about when we do this, or make
sure to save the digests, or some such.  Or am I missing something?
I have 123 unhappy Morris digest subscribers to inform....
