and there are other considerations. like the legal
one. if you start editing archives, or any post for
that matter, you may become legally liable for
content. while you may be so anyway, on the theory
that you could have edited them even if you didn't,
your exposure is greatly increased if you can be shown
to have done so.

our policy for many years has been "refuse it or use
it, NO editing." (and once a new member comes off of
review, all posts are accepted unless they violate the
aup, in which case they are put back on review.)
