You can do that now with the existing "Language= NoHTML" setting in 1.8d.
This strips the HTML part of a multipart/alternative message but ONLY if
there is a plain-text alternative.  I doubt that we will be providing
something to strip HTML tags from messages that don't contain a plain-text
alternative.
