I received the following request for a list I manage. Does anyone
know of a way to prevent listserv from including the instructions
for an index?

Hi, folks--

I'm the system administrator for a mail server in the Centro de Investigaciones
Biologicas in La Paz, Baja California (Mexico). Some of our folks here are
participating in the tesl-l mailing list via a _very expensive_ dialup UUCP
connection to the States; in order to keep the volume down, they've been
requesting indexes and only reading selected messages. Unfortunately, each
time an index is sent out, appended to it comes a long list of instructions
that far exceeds the volume of the index, and is completely redundant for
someone who has received it 20 times before. Is there any way to get
indexes _without_ all this appended verbosity?

Thanks--
Larry Miller
