NSC93.PPT (still  from LISTSERV@SEARN) contains  a number of  charts that
show  the evolution  in the  number  of BITNET  nodes, LISTSERV  servers,
LISTSERV  lists and  LISTSERV membership.  There has  been a  significant
decrease in the first two over the summer, while the last two charts show
that  this  has had  absolutely  no  impact  on  the usage  of  LISTSERV.
Membership increased by  54% over the last year. Most  of the subscribers
have Internet  addresses now, but  so what? Mail is  mail, as long  as it
gets there in good  shape and in a reasonable amount of  time it makes no
difference to the end users.
