I've suggested something similar to folk having problems (send a cc: to
me when they send in the email pw add), but only once in 16 years has
anyone been willing to do so.  I don't know that they'll have to change
it afterword, though, as I don't care what it is and have no use for it,
and I'm certainly not going to remember the password of one subscriber
out of a multi-list 6,000.

If folk have problems registering a password via the list website, I always
suggest they try the email route, in addition to asking what address they
are entering at the web site, since the address has to match the subscribed
address.
