If the member's mail software has a "from" name in it, whatever that may
be, listserv will use it.  If not, it will grab it from the subscriber
list.  There is no necessary connection between the two forms that anyone
uses.  We've all seen addresses in the "from" field that are very long,
list phone numbers and office addresses, etc, etc.

Listserv is designed to perform as the world's best mailing list software,
and NOT to be an address book, personal information manager, scheduler, or
web browser.  And I trust that the esteemed Eric will keep it that way.

I'd vote against such a change for two reasons:  not needed, and most
people don't make their membership lists available publicly anyway, for
obvious reasons.
