You may be quite right.  However, Mr. Gomide did say something about
"I will not talk about his motivations" -- which prompts me to imagine
that Mr. Gomide might be basing his judgments on more information
that he has not included in his message.  But I agree that if
Prof. Gomes is suffering ONLY from naivete and can learn from mistakes
that are pointed out to him, then suspension would be much preferred
to revocation of privileges.  (But if he is so very naive, does he
have the qualifications to offer a course about the Meta-Network?)
Given that I do not have all the facts, I am content to forward this
comment to Mr. Gomide and to have him exercise his own judgment.
