The other way to avoid having to renew is for list members to PARTICIPATE
in the list by posting.  Each time they post the 'clock' that measures the
Renewal period is reset to 0.  Active participants will never be asked to
renew, they do automatically by participating.  You can use the Probe
command to check for bad addresses.  Of course for an announcement-only
list this doesn't work as members have no chance to participate.
