I'm struggling with the same issue (and will check out cni-copyright).

Here's my proposed statement on the matter in the "Copyrights" section
of my list's guidelines (and yes, anyone's free to incorporate it into
his or her guidelines):

>b. Any article submit to this list may be stored, archived, made
>available for searches and retrievals, selected and redistributed by a
>moderator, gatewayed to related lists or Usenet groups or other related
>forums, or otherwise copied and/or distributed electronically by
>automatic, semi-automatic or manual means. Any poster to this list
>acknowledges and permits such storage and redistribution.

I don't want to take away copyright ownership or claim my own on
anything submitted by others, but merely want to encourage the
dissemination of this info--there are volunteer list members who archive
postings, others who may serve as moderator in the future, etc., and
what I'm trying to do is to protect them (and myself for permitting it
to the extent that I know about and can control it).
