This is not  true. If the user  is on the list, and  barring some drastic
action by  the LISTSERV maintainer, his  name is on file  and the request
will be accepted. Even if the name is not on file, the request will still
be accepted if the name is in  the mail headers. The only case where this
will  not work  is if  the  mail headers  don't  have any  name, and  the
LISTSERV maintainer deleted the registration file. And even in that case,
the user  is sent  instructions to correct  the problem.  The alternative
(telling the user to supply his name  again) is worse, as many users will
type their e-mail address instead and get an error message.
 
I'll change the message to include the LISTSERV address.
