A good point: I make daily archives of all list subscribers OFF
the list provider's machines. I once had a service provider load
backup tapes and set my list back 2 or 3 weeks - wiping out all
of the sub/unsub activity for that period of time! Simple to
recover if you have frequent off-site archives, impossible if
you don't.
