I am a novice list owner, working with a very helpful
systems operator who set up listserv at his node at my
request (!).
 
We would like to begin to archive files for our closed
list (the IIEP-L), but we do not know how to do it.
We've got monthly logs, but no filelist.
 
I *have* run a database search on LSTOWN-L's archives
in order to find out how to set up a filelist.  I've
found discussion, but no answers to my questions.  I've
also read (and printed out, and read again) the
documentation available through listserv.  Still, I'm
missing the answer.
 
The systems operator's native language is Japanese; he
is comfortable reading in English, of course, but may
have missed something in the documentation that he has
(and that I haven't seen).  Or I may simply have skimmed past
what I needed without recognizing it.
 
Can anyone point me to documentation that I, or the systems
operator, should be aware of?
