Due to  strong demand from academic  sites, and in particular  from CREN,
L-Soft has  recently decided to  develop a  unix version of  LISTSERV, in
addition to the VMS and NT  versions which were already planned. For more
information,  see   the  formal   statement  of  intent   available  from
LISTSERV@SEARN as GM9308-1.PS or  GM9308-1.MEMO (plain text). Since there
is a table in the document, the postscript version is preferable.
 
This  decision does  not affect  L-Soft's other  plans. Nothing  is being
stopped,  frozen,  or put  in  the  background.  The VMS  development  in
particular  will continue  as  planned, and  the EARN/L-Soft  development
contract is not affected.
