An alternative approach to the problem of identifying AOL users who are
reporting list messages as spam is to set all AOL subscribers to 'FULL822'.
This will force LISTSERV to send each message to each AOL subscriber as a
separate message with the subscriber's address on the 'To:' line. The
subscriber's address will be redacted from the 'To:' line in the spam
report, however, it will not be redacted from the 'Received' headers
inserted by your mail server.

To set all AOL subscribers to FULL822, use the following command:

quiet set LISTNAME full822 for *@aol.com

where 'LISTNAME' is the name of your list.

You can submit the command in an email message or by using the 'Command'
function on the list management web page.

I began suggesting this approach to local list owners last week, on a
case-by-case basis, and at least two of them have been able to identify
the individuals who were reporting list messages as spam.
