I am getting ready to move a mailing list from Majordomo to Listserv. I have
been reading the exhcange on this group for about a week, I have a few
questions before I set up the list and any experienced suggestions would be
appreciated.
 
The list is a closed list designed for technical question and answer
exchange with the questions going to the list and the answers going to
personal email.  The reason for the private response is to keep the mail
traffic as low as possible in order to allow the list membership to grow.  I
was hoping I could use the "Topics" feature on listserv to allow responses
to the list without forcing everyone to read them.  Therefore if you want to
see replies you could subscribe to the reply subtopic otherwise you would
not be bothered by the on going discussion.
 
What are the pros and cons of this approach and is their anyway to force
posts with the RE in the subject line to go to the subtopic group.  Am I
going to have problems manageing the subtopics when the list membership grows.
