Technically, unless there is SPAM detection software operative, then no,
you can't stop someone from making a "mistake" either by accident or
on-purpose.
 
I suggest that you don't feed the flames by entering into the fracas.
It will just frustrate you, and (usually) annoy the list recipients.  Of
course they might respond (any way).
 
Responsible list-owners should recognize the flame in-progess (on their
own lists) and suggest netiquette to the particpants.
 
We've already seen cases of the on-list ad nauseum debates about
censoror and censoree.  Resist the temptation to add to it.  It
implicitly says more positive things about you, and more negative things
about your correspondent.
