I hope there was an element of tongue in cheek in that phase "actually
have to *DO* something";=)  List membership is a privelege not a right and
with that privelege comes responsibility.  I know that Douglas is right in
the short run, but perhaps we need to stop babying subscribers and expect
them to have some sense of Listserv operation.  Usually it is easier for
me to satisfy a subscriber than to send mail explaining how they can do it
themselves.  But I am looking at the long term goal of an educated readership.
