A number of responses will answer your question:
 
1) If a non-confidential list, simply e-mail [log in to unmask]
   the usual subscribe command
 
2) when doing a lists-of-lists search, direct it to any listserv
   site running a current version (such as the one in 1) e.g.,
 
   list global /higher
 
3) send the LISTSERV command
 
   SHOW ALIAS bitnet
 
   to any uptodate LISTSERV site to display the registered aliases
   associated with the :INTERNET tag previously stored by the site's
   Network ADministrator (assuming that (s)he did)
