John,

I am very glad to know this.  Unfortunately, my discussion list is still on
1.8d.  The list I have on 1.8e is not a discussion list and is fully
moderated.  Everyone gets their messages by index notices.  I have therefore
not had occasion to use those niceties.

 I am glad you posted not only for myself but also for those who may be in
the same boat with me and did not know it.  And I can look forward to its
use when my discussion list gets on 1.8e.
