Not knowing the innards of Listserv, I shouldn't say.  But let me take a
stab at the following.  Suppose, instead of being able to imbed any file
of the name FILENAME FILETYPE LISTNAME, if it could instead refer to
names merely of the form FILENAME FILETYPE, and Listserv would automagically
insert the LISTNAME.  This way, it would refer only to files on the same
FILELIST, which presumably would all be under the control of the
list-owner who is writing the LISTNAME MAILTPL in any case.
 
Would this be both sufficiently broad and secure?
