To the Listserv Team:

A need has been identified for a mailinglist for the discussion of
zoophilia. There is quite a high content of zoophile discussion occuring
on Usenet / InterNet, but currently no coherrent means of pulling it all
together. Two attempts have been made in the past to create a Usenet
Zoophile discussion group, but have failed.

I would respectfully like to ask a mail-list service provider to help
bring all the discussion (both pro and con) together into one mailing
list.

The charter and moderation policies of the list would be the same as the
proposed soc.support.zoophilia newsgroup. The charter and moderation
policies follow.

To be useful, the mailing list MUST have the following:
1) Must be moderated. It is anticipated such a controversial topic will
generate a fair amount of inflamatory traffic that will need to be
filtered out. (As a small note here, all opposing viewpoints will be
posted on the condition they are not worded insultingly. See moderation
policy for more details...)
2) Subscription to the mailer must be automatic. I know this is the most
common way mailing lists are run, but I want to emphasise that point.
3) The list MUST be robust enough to handle a high readership (though not
necessarily a high traffic content). It is anticipated that this list
will be widely advertised, and therefore have a high readership.

I'm not a regular follower of dicussions here, so replies by private
Email would be appreciated.

CHARTER

The purpose of soc.support.zoophilia is to provide to the zoophile
community a place to exchange information, emotional support, and advice
of legal or psychological natures. The newsgroup will be moderated to
avoid the unwelcome presence of binaries, flames, and off-topic posts.

MODERATION POLICY

Soc.support.zoophilia will not be used for fictional erotica,
binaries, or personal advertisements. Relevant discussions on this
newsgroup include: the social and emotional difficulties that zoophiliacs
have in today's world; legal issues affecting zoophiles; emotional support
for zoophiles who are confused or depressed about their love for animals;
and discussion of zoophilia as a social and psychological phenomenon.
Well-written questions and opinions, from any point of view, will
also be welcomed.

RATIONALE

There currently exists no adequate newsgroup for useful discussion of
zoophilia. The only newsgroup related to the topic is overloaded with
new-to-UseNet inquiries, poor propagation, and malevolent intolerance.
The advantages of soc.support.zoophilia are its greater propagation,
granting more people the opportunity to observe and participate in
discussion about a nearly undiscussable topic outside of UseNet;
and moderation, which will filter out any off-topic, malevolent
or unduly lengthy postings.
