Hi there!

A couple of questions from a relative newbie to list-ownership.....

1) We're picking up hosting a list from an educational listserver that no
longer wishes to carry the list. Basically, a discussion group for users
of my company's products. They've told the list that they're discontinuing
it, but it's currently still functioning. I've offered our listserver to
the membership, and met with an enthusiastic response. The question is:
Should I just sign up the membership o that list to our list? Or just send
a message or two (or three) to the list letting them know we're now
hosting. I'm aware that it's bad form to advertise our list on another
one, but since I set this one up just to accommodate the dying old list,
what do you think?

2) The reply-to address seems to vary from mail reader to mail reader.
For instance, using Microsoft Mail, if I click reply to author to a message
sent to the list, my response goes to the list, but through Pegasus or
Eudora, the reply to author goes to the author of the individual message.

3) Lastly, many messages seem to carry [via LSMTP - see www.lsoft.com] in
the subject. How do I get rid of that?

Thanks for your help in advance....

Seth
