I apologize if this is unrelated to LISTSERV. I can't figure out what
it's related to -- except that my local guru has assured me that it's not
related to anything here at Mississippi State.

I am listowner of two LISTSERV lists at UGA, one very active, one very
quiet. When I became listowner of the active one (WORDS-L) a couple of
years ago, I moved it from Yale to UGA since UGA was just one short hop
away from here. Suddenly my list mail from [log in to unmask] is
going through Princeton. That in itself is not a major problem, but
much of the mail is never getting to me at all. I know that because I've
been checking our ftp daily logs of list mail and finding many list postings
that never made it to me. Responses to LISTSERV commands are coming the
normal route and getting here promptly, but mail from the list is taking a
long detour and in some cases vanishing totally.

Note the 'from' line in this response to a LISTSERV command:

From @UGA.CC.UGA.EDU:[log in to unmask] Fri Mar 19 05:26:13 1993
From: BITNET list server at UGA (1.7f) <[log in to unmask]>

And note the 'from' line in this list posting:

The whole net world has seemed kind of crazy ever since some addresses
started showing up in the form @UGA.CC.UGA.EDU:[log in to unmask] That
change a few weeks ago on most VM systems really threw a Unix listserv-type
program that I'm using for one list into confusion. Fortunately, Eric's
LISTSERV is much smarter. And it's probably my imagination that the VM
change producing addresses in that new, strange-looking form released some
kind of goblins into the nets. Anyway, I certainly wish I had some idea why
the net goblins are eating much of my mail from WORDS-L and why it has to
go through Princeton to travel from Georgia to Mississippi. Thanks for any
insights anybody can offer. And apologies for my early-morning verbosity.
