I am listowner of a fairly small (250), but extremely active (approximately 50
messages per day) list.  I use a method devised by Larry Jewell, listowenr of
wwii-l.  Members of the list are urged to send at least their telephone numbers
to the list phone book.  They are told that, if their mail starts to bounce, I
shall notify them by telephone.  If I don't have a telephone number to call,
they are terminated with extreme prejudice forthwith.
