The answer depends on some specific scenarios e.g., if the host was a
BITNET site (registered in the BITEARN NODES db), then using the
:NEWNODE tag would be of great benefit. (GET the file LEAVING BITNET
from LISTSERV@bitnic (@bitnic.educom.edu).)
If this is an Internet-only (or gateway address), then the host's
Domain Name sysadmin could do some razzle-dazzle ;-) that could
(possibly) obviate or ameliorate the need by using CNAME or MX
records.
If not, then I don't know of any automated way (but others might).
