I know this has been brought up on LSTOWN-L before but I haven't been
able to find it in the archives.
The default marker separating postings in list archives is inadequate.
It would be ok if no one ever quoted inappropriately; such is the dream.
As it is it can be, at times, very difficult to determine where one
posting with gross excess quoting stops and the next posting starts.
As a mere listowner I don't think I can change the delimiter with
something like a .mailtpl setting (please! correct me if I am wrong!).
What I, and my digest subscribers (about 20% percent of each list,
amounting to well over 1,500 digest subscribers), want is a very
distinctive posting delimiter rather than the very ambiguous
-----------------
How about you use alphabetic characters to make it distinctive, like,
say,
ListservDigestListservDigestListservDigest
and maybe make that changeable via a .mailtpl to
MylistDigestMylistDigestMylistDigest
Takes as many bits to record and transmit - as it does an alphabetic
character, doesn't it?
As I said, if it is already possible to change it myself, as listowner,
please point me to it as I have not found how to do it.
