There are at least SEVEN processes potentially involved in the
functioning of LISTSERV(R) list definition * REPLY-TO=

1) the originator SENDER who keys a message for distribution

2) the SENDER's e-mail system that processes the message

3) the LISTSERV(R) keyword that specifies how to filter
the headers and then transform them for distribution
   to a user

4) the user's personal subscription SET options to the list

5) the user's e-mail system that receives the distribution

6) the user's REPLY function or other method of generating
   a return message

7) the user's e-mail system that processes outgoing mail

In "properly" functioning processes, the use of * REPLY-TO=
works pretty well: the first operand specifies the "input"
to the LISTSERV(R) REPLY processing generation; the second
operand specifies the "output" of that generation, based upon
the available "inputs."
