Several of my lists have received spam from the above sender. Although I
have Send= (LISTNAME), this person subscribed first and then posted.

The message gives a misimpression that the book will be sent free to
environmental activists. The 800 number describes a flat price of $22.95
for all, no distinctions made, and its reference to another number leads
to Mr. Shavelson himself, who is apparently the publisher.

Subject: TOXIC NATION

          ANNOUNCEMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS

Our apologies if you receive this notice on different lists.
Given recent political threats to environmental regulations, we
are trying to reach as many grassroots and political
environmental organizations as possible, and hope this posting is
appropriate for your group. Please feel free to repost.

Distribution of the book TOXIC NATION: THE FIGHT TO SAVE OUR
COMMUNITIES FROM CHEMICAL CONTAMINATION, about successful
grassroots activism for environmental protection, has been
difficult outside of major cities. So the authors have decided
to offer an 800-number for environmental organizations to be able
to obtain the book, with no charge for shipping the book to
members of groups actively engaged in the present fight to save
and enforce our environmental regulations.
