This is a new game I've heard of recently.  Kind of a drag for
listowners as well as the recipient.  Somehow someone gets access
to a victim's email account and then subs him/her to a ton of lists.
So all of a sudden the target of this little "joke" is getting tons
of email from tons of lists -- much more effective in screwing up
an account than bombing somebody yourself (bombing is sending so
many messages that the mailbox "explodes" -- send enough and the
system crashes.  It is definitely outlaw behavior on Internet.

If you get one of those please, just unsub the poor bastard.

That's one reason why it's helpful to set subscriptions to
open,confirm -- instead of getting signed up to your list, the
recipient of the prank would have just got a confirmation message
that he/she would have ignored or deleted (or written back asking
what is this about) -- either way, the person would not have
been subbed to your list and not be receiving all your mail.
