You're right--they get notified that the message goes to you for
moderation.  I've never had quarrels with that.  the subscribers don't
neet to know they're being singled out.  For all they know I've set the
whole list to review.  But if I *tell* them they are getting modified, I
may have to spend the next two weeks debating freedom of speech vs.
"rights of the many" with some grad student with an attitude, and I just
don't have the time.  I set'em quiet review, and when things calm down, I
turn'em loose again.  But *yes* they know they're message gets sent to me.
I see mailing lists as--hopefully--benign dictatorships.  They can always
start their own, they don't like my style.
