It is possible that the postmaster is NOT the LISTSERV-maintainer.
You could address e-mail to: [log in to unmask]
 
I guess we (all) have learned a valuable lesson in changing
* OWNER=.  Always leave an escape hatch: insert a QUIET:
on the "old" owner line, insert a "new" OWNER before e.g.,
 
old:
 
* OWNER= pmw1@psuvm
 
new (in the order shown):
 
* OWNER= [log in to unmask]
* OWNER= quiet:,pmw1@psuvm
 
Later, once [log in to unmask] has been "confirmed" i.e., demonstrated
to be a working owner account, have that account delete the QUIET: account
