More likely an admin issued a global command. But then changing the option back would fix it.

So the suggestion is that someone hacked both lists and changed the subscriber options?
I don't know why my original; message was edited out,here,  but to reiterate,I have been the owner of these lists for years and it has been changed globally,and nothing in the settings appears askew.
