I don't know if other lists are having trouble, but there are
subscribers with addresses that are reached via sprint.com in my
list GIS-L, and if their mail cannot be deleivered, sprint issues
error messages whcih are not caught by LISTSERV but which are
distributed to the subscribers, and via a gateway are posted to a
Usenet group. The problem was bad enough a few weeks back that I
had to delete the subscribers via sprint and ask them to resubscribe
when Sprint had finished installing new hardware. Now the problems
are just occasional but still bothersome. I assume there is
nothing that I myself can do. Is the appropriate action to try to
get Sprint to adopt a more standard error message format, or might
Eric Thomas add a 'trap' for this message format to LISTSERV soon?

A couple of recent examples are appended.
