Because if I'm NOT on holiday, I'm likely to be checking my mail
soon enough to get the confirmation out. I may have an extra day or two
of mail to go through (hopefully not two, as in most cases I think the
confirmation will have expired, not a big deal, I can re-send the command,
being aware that I should get a confirmation request), but if I'm gone for
a week, or more, I could end up with a huge pile of mail. To me the
distinction is not ``going on holiday from the list'', but ``going on
holiday, so will be away from my computer for a significant period of
time''.
