TEXT/PLAIN (35 lines)
I noticed this myself yesterday when all posts to our newsgroup started
coming to me for approval. After a series of messages with Jim I finally
realized that I should have payed attention to that thread here recently.
I'm not certain at present that this is a major problem for me, I was
thinking of starting to review all posts from our gateway anyway, but this
is shaping up to be alot of work, and I'm starting to wonder if Jim and
the folks here really appreciate what this change means to those of us
using the gateway. E-mail spam sent to my list has long been a greater
problem than Usenet spam, so I have posting set to subscriber only. So
now, with this change of not having the [log in to unmask] address
recognized as a subscriber,
I have to manually forward every post from our newsgroup, if I can't
persuade at least some of our users to subscribe and set to NOMAIL, which
isn't likely to happen.

One or two posts a day, yeah it's no problem, but that doesn't describe my
list. If I set up an address for Editor that I can use Eudora Light with
I should be able to make the job a little easier (make a short nickname
for the list address), but this will represent a substantial increase in
the time I spend administering my list, and a level of inconvenience for
the users who must wait till I get around to redirecting their posts. I
have to do some more thinking about how I'm going to organize this too.
Maybe it's time to invest in Eudora Pro, though I don't know how I'll be
able to sort the newsgroup posts from the other list posts.

So this isn't painless. I'd prefer a way of being able to toggle the
review process myself, like setting [log in to unmask] to review. So
with some trepidation, I'd like to ask that the Sender line be reinstated,
or some other way found of having a [log in to unmask] address
recognized as a subscriber without opening up the list to e-mail spam.

Thanks,
Mike Holloway
