That was what happened when the new "improved" version of a popular
webmail provider came out. Selecting plaintext gives the sender HTML
without the ability to change the font or color. People swore they were
sending list commands in plain text, but they included HTML tags.
Fortunately, it is still possible to use the old, unimproved version.
They may have changed it -- I complained, and I know many other people
did also -- but I haven't tried the new format since.
