This may be the wrong forum, but I know that a friendly AOL postmaster
reads here occasionally, and I'm at wit's end. If you can point me at
a more appropriate venue, I'll gladly take my troubles and go...

Our site uses Mercury mail, relaying through a venerable IBM 3090. A
few weeks ago, quite suddenly, all mail from [log in to unmask]
began coming back *from AOL ONLY* with the cryptic error "access
denied". The headers suggest that it's the msu.edu domain that's
being rejected. I'm guessing it might be a defective spam-blocker.

Mail from other campus domains ([log in to unmask]) goes through
without a hitch. I've spent hours on the phone with the campus
networking gurus, and we've all pretty much concluded that the problem
is at AOL. I wrote to the AOL postmaster from an address that wasn't
being rejected ([log in to unmask]), got the standard auto-reply...
and nothing else.

I'm open to ideas, suggestions, anything that will let my poor users
send mail to AOL again. They even have legitimate business reasons
for doing so.
