I'm looking for a motivated list owner with more bounces that he can
handle and with a sympathetic LISTSERV administrator to alpha test a new
1.8c bounce processing feature. This is an alpha test in that the new
method has never been tested on a real list; the new code has been tested
and is unlikely to cause loops or crashes (although the build will
include the new database code, but you can disable that selectively).
This new feature requires one of the following MTAs: LMail, MX, PMDF,
LISTSERV-SMTP listener (NT), or LSMTP. For LSMTP sites, this will require
the installation of a new LSMTP build, which will be available soon. For
other MTAs, the current version will do fine. For VM sites that offload
mail to an LSMTP system, the MTA that counts is the one that runs on VM,
and you will not need to update LSMTP.
