I am having a lot of trouble with the PUT command.  Have read
documentation for last week, to no avail.  Can't seem to put my mailing
list back in the Listserv, one I get it.  And haven't got a clue how to use
the lsvput, which I guess I need for putting files in the Listserv.  The
documentation seems to assume some knowledge
I'm sadly lacking.
 
Any shove in the right direction would be appreciated.

Header lines must start  with an asterisk in column 1,  and other lines must
start  with an  RFC822 address  in column  1. To  avoid potentially  serious
problems due to finger-checks, lines starting with a blank are not accepted.
 
PUT operation rejected, old list remains unchanged.
